10/10/11: National Fallen Firefighters/NFLPA Memorial Golf Tourney
On October 10, 2011, firefighters from across the metro area converged on Lakewood Country Club in New Orleans to participate in a fundraiser for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in conjunction with the NFL Players Association. The event, which is quickly becoming one of the top tourney fundraiser's for this worthy cause in the country, included 18 holes of golf and a barbeque style lunch. A special presentation was also given by the mother of David Crockett firefighter Richard R. "Ricky" Christiana who died in the line of duty on September 11, 2009.
