Around 2pm on August 30, firefighters responded to a fire in the 2700 block of Jefferson Highway. The fire was quickly contained. Around 5pm the same day, firefighters were again called back to the scene after the store was looted and set on fire again. This time, the fire proved to be challenging due to the lack of a working hydrant system and due to the fact that the building was fully involved upon their arrival.
