Around 5:00pm firefighters were dispatched to a reported fire in an abandoned house in the 2900 block of Andover. When Station 11 units rolled out of their station, thick black smoke could be seen pouring from the top of the dwelling which was more than four blocks away. Stations 11,12,140, and squad 159(who was dispatched when it was determined that the house was fully involved), were positioned in the front of the house. Stations 14 and 19 led the attack on the back side of the duplex. The whole back side of the house was fully involved when the first units arrived.
