At approximately 12:40pm, firefighters received a call that stated that someone noticed smoke coming from a vacant warehouse on the Beads by the Dozen property. The first in company, E198, reported light smoke showing upon arrival. The fire was contained to a small portion of the facility and was quickly extinguished after a quick interior attack and a brief roof inspection. This call began an influx of calls (including several accidents and investigations) which kept firemen busy for the next couple of hours.
